At the Stanthorpe Anglican Parish, we believe a healthy community is an active community. Take a look at our many opportunities to hold special services for the community, to participate in social events and to take part in learning and growing together.
Palm Sunday
Palm Sunday falls the Sunday before Easter it recalls an event in the Christian Scripture (The New Testament) of Jesus entering into Jerusalem and being greeted by the people waving palm branches. For Christians, it is a reminder of the welcoming of Jesus into our hearts and of our willingness to follow him.

Good Friday
Good Friday is a day for commemorating the great sacrifice of Jesus, who gave away his life to save us from sins. He was born for us and he died for us. His death is an example of the ultimate sacrifice and unconditional love.

Easter Sunday
Easter Sunday is a day for celebrating the resurrection of Jesus. We celebrate Easter because not only did our Lord conquer death, but without the Resurrection, we have no foundation for our faith.

An annual service to celebrate and remember those who have gone to be with the Lord.

Poppy Service
The Commemorative Poppy Service is held at St Denys Anglican Soldier Settlement Church which was dedicated to St Deny's the patron Saint of France emphasises the strong links between the returned soldiers and those who gave the ultimate sacrifice for freedom on the battlefields of France. Each year on the third Sunday of November we pay tribute to this connection, including descendants of the soldiers who settled in the area participating in this service.

Harvest Thanksgiving Service
The Granite Belt's tradition of agriculture and the production of food and wine has enriched the lives of many. We, the Parish of Stanthorpe and the community like to be able to give thanks to God for the produce that is able to be grown in this area along with those that work tirelessly to bring it to our tables.

Bishop & Archbishop Visits
It is an honour that we are able to to have the Bishop come and visit us Annually, we have been lucky enough for the Archbishop to visit us also.

Other Services
Other special services occur throughout the year depending on the calendar and events that may be occurring. Services have included a visit from Her Excellency the Honourable Dr Jeannette Young and a memorial honouring and remembering the life and service of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
St Paul's 150th Celebrations
Celebrating 150th years of St Paul's Anglican Church in Stanthorpe.
The church dates from the early 1870s. A bark hut erected in 1872 served as a temporary church building, until a more permanent timber building was erected 1873. The present church building dates from 1957.
